Welcome to Spices&Hay Food Blog! Your new go to for – soon to be all things – food; cooking recipes, ingredient guides and information, cooking techniques, and most importantly how this ties in with wellbeing and mental health.
We’re focused on providing you knowledge, love and understanding when it comes to food. Sharing our journey on how we found an outlet in cooking in regards to anxiety; how food and cooking became our “medicine” or “therapy” for mental health. You know you always get people who say, exercise and the gym helps with anxiety and mental health, well cooking is our vice.
The very best of food, with a focus on two mental health, love and knowledge.
Founded in 2018 by Saphron Reynolds and Shaina Khan, Spices&Hay is hoping to go a long way from a small time food blog to hopefully so much more. We don’t want to give too much away too early, we’ll follow the path as time takes us on, but we want you guys to be part of the journey with us too!
In all honesty, all we could hope for is that this blog helps you in some way shape or form. Whether it’s finding out you don’t hate cooking, or that you can cook, or it may be an outlet for you, or realising following recipes isn’t the be-all-end-all, getting creative or being inspired.
When we – Saphron and Shaina – first started cooking together, although not realising it at the time, it was a way of being free in a time where we felt very overwhelmed in all honesty – in our individual respective lives. We hope that by sharing our experiences and how we’ve overcome and are still overcoming hardships through food and cooking can help you too. How personal experiences have led us to be creative with food and creating healthy or vegan dishes but also not limited to. We’ll be sharing knowledge about what our favourite ingredients are that have wonderful health benefits and heal you from the inside out, but also how this doesn’t mean you need to eat boring.
This space isn’t spoken about enough and we want to bring to light the other ways you can find a way for hope when battling with mental health.
We hope you enjoy our products and services as much as we enjoy offering them to you. If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
Saphron and Shaina xoxo
